Featured Matchup🎰
Los Angeles Clippers @ Orlando Magic
Model Predicts- Clippers ML, OVER 211, Magic +1.5
The Los Angeles Clippers will continue a four-game road trip on Friday night, with the next stop coming in Orlando, Florida to take on the Magic.
Los Angeles picked up a victory in Game 1 of its road trip, sneaking out a narrow 108-107 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Clippers now own a 45-27 record this season, while the Magic sit at 42-30 with 10 regular season games still to play.
Our model is forecasting a tightly contested game tonight, and we think that this is a good spot to back the Magic as a slight home underdog. Let’s take a look at why that is.
Los Angeles Clippers
Coming off narrow win over 76ers
Won 108-107. Shot 44% overall and 39% from three
However, have been one of worst teams in NBA over last nine games
Own -3.5 Net Rating in that span- 19th in NBA
Defense is main culprit for struggles- Rank 29th in Defensive Rating (121.7). Opponents shooting 50.2% overall and 44% from three
Injuries- Jordan Miller and Moussa Diabate are questionable
Orlando Magic
Enter tonight on two-game losing streak
Losses to Kings and Warriors
-10 point differential in that span
Have still played great basketball over last two weeks
Rank sixth in Net Rating (+9.1) in last seven games
Rank top-three in Defensive Rating (106.1). Offense is shooting 50.2% as team (4th in NBA)
Injuries- No players on injury report
What’s the Play?
Tonight’s battle should be a game that relies heavily on defense, but we agree with our model that that will allow the Magic to keep this game close.
The Clippers' have been stellar defensively for most of the season, but there are clearly some issues for the team on that end of the floor right now. Ranking in the bottom-two of the NBA in Defensive Rating over the last nine games is a huge concern, especially while still in the midst of a road trip and their next opponent being an efficient Magic offense.
Orlando should continue to expose L.A.’s defensive struggles, and its top-rated defense will only further help keep any deficit manageable.
The Play: Magic +1.5 (-110)

News Around the League
💪 Murray has career night in win over Celtics. The Boston Celtics currently lead the Eastern Conference by a wide margin, but Dejounte Murray and the Atlanta Hawks took down the beast as 17-point underdogs last night. Dejounte Murray's career-high 44 points, including a crucial jumper in overtime, led the Hawks to a 123-122 win over the Celtics, their second victory in four days. Despite injuries, the Hawks have won four straight games, positioning themselves for a possible first-round playoff showdown against the Celtics if they maintain their spot in the play-in tournament.
💰 Cavaliers confident Mitchell will sign contract extension. Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert is optimistic that Donovan Mitchell, their All-Star guard, will sign a long-term contract with Cleveland to pursue an NBA championship. Mitchell, under contract with Utah until 2026, is eligible for a four-year extension worth around $200 million this summer. Despite Mitchell's recent absence due to injury, the Cavaliers remain competitive in the Eastern Conference under coach J.B. Bickerstaff, and Gilbert believes the team can contend with anyone in the East.

Former Dallas Cowboys head coach (Getty Images)
Anyone know what has happened on March 29th throughout history? We didn’t have a clue either, but it appears that it has been a busy day.
On March 29th…
1867- MLB legend Cy Young is born in Gilmore, Ohio. Young would pitch in the majors from 1890-1911, recording an MLB record 511 wins in that span. Young’s record still stands to this day, with the next closest person being Walter Johnson with 417 wins.
1994- Jimmy Johnson quits as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. His departure was a mutual one, as him and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones did not see eye to eye in many different areas and Jones downplayed Johnson’s impact to Dallas’ success. Johnson would lead to Cowboys to two Super Bowls as head coach, and would later join the Miami Dolphins staff as head coach in 1996.
1999- The 61st NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship is contested between the University of Connecticut and Duke University. The Huskies took home the victory in what was the school’s first national title game, winning by a score of 77-74. Richard Hamilton was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player following the win.
