Featured Matchup🎰

Milwaukee Bucks @ Golden State Warriors
Model Predicts- Warriors ML, OVER 226.5, Warriors -4

The Milwaukee Bucks will kick off a four-game, West Coast road trip on Wednesday night, with the first stop coming in San Francisco, California to take on the Warriors.

Milwaukee enters tonight’s matchup with a stellar 41-21 record and in second place in the Eastern Conference, a result of winning six consecutive games despite injuries to key players. Meanwhile, Golden State sits in 10th in the West with a 32-28 record, and is at an all-time low following a 140-88 loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday.

It’s tough to back the Warriors after Sunday’s blowout loss, but our model believes that returning home, plus a few injuries to Bucks players, gives Golden State a chance to cover the spread as a home favorite. Let’s dive into why that is.

Milwaukee Bucks
  • Enter tonight on six-game win streak

    • Wins over Timberwolves, 76ers, Hornets (twice), Bulls, and Clippers

    • +99 point differential in that span

  • Defense has been key to recent success

    • Rank 2nd in Defensive Rating (102.6) in last six games

    • Opponents have been held to 107 points or less in each of the last six games

  • Injuries- Khris Middleton (OUT), Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jae Crowder, and MarJon Beauchamp all questionable

Golden State Warriors
  • Coming off blowout loss to Celtics on Sunday

    • Lost 140-88. Allowed Boston to shoot 55% overall and 51% from three

  • Were one of hottest teams in NBA prior to Celtics loss

    • Posted 7-2 record in the nine games prior- most wins in NBA during that time

    • Owns +7.5 Net Rating in those nine games- 8th in NBA

  • Injuries- No players on injury report

What’s the Play?

Blowouts are rather common in the NBA nowadays, but seeing a 52-point loss is still rare. However, despite that blowout, we agree with our model that this is a great spot to back Golden State.

The Warriors were arguably the best team in the NBA in the nine games prior to Sunday’s loss. In that span Golden State showed great balance, posting a 116.8 Offensive Rating and 109.4 Defensive Rating, ranking inside the top-nine of the NBA in both categories.

Additionally, Milwaukee has been the beneficiary of a weaker schedule during its win streak, taking down injured Hornets, Bulls, and 76ers squads and facing the Clippers on a back-to-back. We feel that is inflating the Bucks’ recent numbers, and injuries to the key players listed above gives us confidence that Golden State can bounce back tonight.

The Play: Warriors -4 (-110)

News Around the League

☀️ Suns take down Nuggets in overtime. Kevin Durant led the short-handed Phoenix Suns to a 117-107 victory over the Denver Nuggets, scoring 35 points, including eight in overtime. Despite Durant's previous struggles with his jumper, he hit a crucial game-tying 3-pointer late in the game. Grayson Allen added 28 points for the Suns, snapping their two-game losing streak, while Nikola Jokic's last-second floater missed, ending the Nuggets' six-game winning streak.

🎶 Isaiah Thomas to join Jazz G-League affiliate. Former NBA All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas is set to join the Utah Jazz's G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, in hopes of returning to the NBA for the end of the season. Thomas has been out of the league since the 2021-22 season, during which he played 22 games split between the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, and Charlotte Hornets. Despite a career plagued by injuries following his standout seasons, Thomas is aiming for a comeback and could potentially bolster the struggling Utah Jazz, currently the West's No. 11 seed, in their bid for a Play-In Tournament spot.
